When turkeys rest, they like to be off the ground. They can roost on a fence. They can sit on a park bench.

The turkeys aren’t always the best neighbors. They cross the street without looking. They can be bossy. Sometimes they chase people! And they are noisy. Gobble, gobble!

But some people in the town still like these birds. One turkey named Smoke was popular. People saw him around a lot. They started calling him the mayor!
